To track global flood occurence for flood risk manangement and mitigation.
It is a database that comprises of floods effect, extent, flood locations, duration, and the cause for different countries. Watersheds and the intersecting watersheds were chosen to be used as the mapping unit.
This dataset entails flood event id, source of flood event, days a flood event lasted, cause of flood event, water detection algorithm, number of people left homeless.
Data is collected by DFO Flood Observertory and Satellites imagery.
