To measure living conditions, the situation of poverty and to ensure a necessary tool to help policy makers in monitoring and developing social programs.
The LSMS was used for things like monitoring poverty over time, guiding policymaking and evaluating social programs, as part of Albania’s national strategies (e.g. National Strategy for Economic and Social Development, later National Strategy for Development and Integration
Dataset contains: poverty indicators by prefecture, poverty indicators by region, average monthly expenditures by type and region, percentage of real consumption per capita by regions and the highest diploma attained for persons 21 years and over by area and economic status.
Household survey administered on 6,671 households.
