Dataset Objective

To provide estimates of groundwater recharge in Africa.

Context

This study was funded by the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) Grant NE/L002035/1 and data deposited by the British Geological Survey. Data covers the period 1970 to 2020.

What is included

Data entails groundwater recharge along with the latitude, longitude, recharge estimate, recharge range, time period for the measurement, methods used, a confidence rating and reason for this rating, and the reference from where the data originate. Data also includes climate data, landcover, aquifer type, soil group and Normalized difference vegetation index.

Collection Methods

Data was collected through satellite images and remote sensing.
