The data was collected as part of the effort to provide accurate indicators used to characterize and map water scarcity worldwide.
The dataset contains monthly, Quarterly averaged and yearly averages of blue water scarcity of world's major rivers.
Blue water scarcity in a river basin data was calculated at a 5 by 5 arc minute spatial resolution. The blue water scarcity in a river basin ratio of the total blue water footprint to the blue water availability in a river basin during a specific time period.
