To measure water storage capacity available upstream of a location relative to the total water supply at that location.
Data covers the period 1950-2010. Data is based on World Resources Institute, Aqueduct Global Maps.
Dataset contains water storage capacity upstream. This is classified as: high, high to medium, medium to low, low, extremely low and no major reservoirs. Higher values indicate areas more capable of buffering variations in water supply i.e. droughts and floods.
