Dataset Objective

To show the percentage of seasonal water area change of rivers and lakes.

Context

This dataset covers the period of 2006 to 2020. This dataset is part of the Global SDG Indicator database compiled through the UN System in preparation for the Secretary-General's annual report on progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.

What is included

Data contains the global locations, countries, regions, earliest and latest available years and the estimated percentage change values for different years.

Collection Methods

Data was collected using water quantity monitoring and remote sensing.
