Dataset Objective

To show the reservoir minimum water area covered as a percentage of the total land area.

Context

This dataset covers the period of 2000 to 2020. This dataset is part of the Global SDG Indicator database compiled through the UN System in preparation for the Secretary-General's annual report on progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.

What is included

This dataset contains the global locations, geographic area name and code, parent geographic area name, geographic area type, earliest and latest years, available years and the estimated minimum percentage water area for different years and countries.

Collection Methods

Data was collected using satellite images and monitoring.
