To provide data on surface water quantity leaving the country.
AQUASTAT Main database also hosts data on surface water enterring a country.
Dataset contains the average volume of surface water that left the country to other countries through transboundary flow i.e. rivers, canals, pipes in km3/year. Volume of surface water leaving a country that is not submitted to formal agreements or treaties, the volume which is submitted to treaties and through formal agreements or treaties. Data does not cover sea water.
Data is obtained through survey and monitoring.
