To estimate tropical cyclones surges events.
The data cover the period from 1975 to 2007. Tropical cyclones are classified as: maximum sustained winds of at least 74 mph (Category 1), to winds exceeding 156 mph (Category 5).
Dataset contains Saffi - impson Hurricane Wind Scale which classifies hurricanes into five categories distinguished by the intensities of their sustained winds.
