The method affects towns in China, India, and parts of Africa where Landscan counting method usually over estimated.
This dataset contains: administrative 0 and administrative 1 capitals, major cities and towns, country name, continanet name, country code, and smaller towns in sparsely inhabited regions.
LANDSCAN counting method. Data was converted from raster to vector and pixels with fewer than 200 persons per square kilometer was removed from the dataset as they were classified as rural.
