Dataset Objective

To provide information on the percentage of mangrove area loss across different regions.

Context

It covers the period of 2000 to 2016. This dataset is part of the Global SDG Indicator database compiled through the UN System in preparation for the Secretary-General's annual report on progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.

What is included

This dataset contains the percentages of mangrove area loss for different countries. Data also entails the sustainable development goal code, goal label, description, target code, target description, global locations, geographic area name and code, parent geographic area name, geographic area type, earliest and latest years, available years, among other attributes.

Collection Methods

Data was collected through satellite images.
