Dataset Objective

To map out the extent of floods and the population affected in Mozambique.

Map shows the population (based on WorldPop at 100m resolution generating through AI) and the Flood Extents known as of 19/20 March 2019

What is included

Dataset consists of information on populated places, cities, hamlets, localities, the national capital, town, village, airport, seaports, international boundaries, province boundaries, rivers, waterbody, flooding probability, and estimated number of people per 100 square metres,

Collection Methods

Modelling of data from the following sources: OSM, Administrative boundaries: WFP, INE, OCHA, Flood extent probability: Sam Bowers, Population: WorldPop, 2019 and Hydrology: Natural Earth.
