Dataset
To provide data on seasonal faecal contamination of drinking water sources and household drinking water, together with information on water access and respondent characteristics, in selected municipalities of Ghana.
This dataset supplements the study "Seasonality in faecal contamination of drinking water sources in the Jirapa and Kassena-Nankana Municipalities of Ghana," examining the seasonality of faecal contamination in drinking water sources in the Jirapa and Kassena-Nankana Municipalities of Ghana. It contains the data used for the study's analysis.
Two SPSS files are included: "Water_Points_Data.sav," which contains attribute and location information of water sources and the amount of fecal coliforms detected in water samples during rainy and dry seasons, and "Household_DATA_cleaned.sav," which contains socio-demographic information of 568 respondents, data on access to water, and the amount of fecal coliforms detected in household drinking water sources during rainy and dry seasons.
The data were collected from sampled water points and households in the Jirapa and Kassena-Nankana Municipalities. Water sources and household drinking water were assessed for faecal contamination using faecal coliforms as the indicator, with measurements taken during both rainy and dry seasons. Household data were collected from 568 respondents.
