To show the amount of carbon dioxide emissions to the atmosphere as a result of aboveground biomass loss.
The dataset was created as part to identify the global CO2 emissions associated with loss of aboveground live woody biomass.
Data contains loss of biomass through deforestation, fire and logging, global tons of CO2 emissions from aboveground woody biomass loss/hectare and tons of CO2 emissions from aboveground woody biomass loss/pixel and their respective locations.
The dataset estimated were obtained from aboveground live woody biomass density values for the year 2000 from Baccini et al. 2012 with annual tree cover loss data from Hansen et al. 2013.
