Dataset Objective

To understand domestic water demand in rural semiarid regions in three ways; understanding water demand in Nigeria, seasonal variation of water demand, how water demand changes in different developmental and demographic scenarios

This study promotes the view that; in regions of limited water availability, the prevailing supply-oriented approach to rural water development should give way to one that emphasizes demand management

A PDF file with figures and tables describing; average household daily water use by wards, the quantity of water used for each household domestic activity, domestic water demand, and water-demand projections

Collection Methods

Two face-to-face interview surveys were undertaken between June and August 1996 and between January and March 1997.
