Dataset Objective

To provide data on intact forest landscapes for monitoring of forests globally.

Context

Dataset covers the folowing period: IFL for the year 2000, 2013 and 2016, IFL change 2000-2013-2016 and IFL change factors for 2000-2013.

What is included

This dataset consists of: intact forests, intact forest fragmentation, intact forest loss, other forests and non-forest areas. Intact Forest Lanscapes (IFL) change factors are: clearing for agriculture, tree plantations, industrial activity such as logging and mining, fragmentation due to infrastructure and fires assumed to be caused by humans.

Collection Methods

Medium spatial resolution images from Landsat are used as the primary data source.
