Dataset Objective

To map out vegetation cover in Northern parts of Kenya.

Context

Map is a depiction of the distribution of vegetation in northern Kenya

What is included

Dataset consists of vegetation cover categorized as: barren land, bush land, dwarf shrub grassland, forest, grassland, shrub land, woodland and water. Classification is based on seasonality and dominant species found within each area.

Collection Methods

Satellite imagery and monitoring by the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ).
