Dataset Objective

To provide statistically sound and internationally comparable data essential for developing evidence-based policies and programs, and for monitoring progress toward national goals and global commitments

Context

The 2019 Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) was carried out in 2019 (with the 2025 MICS in progress as of last update) by the Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency, as part of the Global MICS Programme. Technical support was provided by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), with government funding and financial support of UNICEF, European Union (EU), UK Department for International Development (DFID), Embassy of Sweden and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

What is included

Household survey results on household composition, childhood mortality, nutrition status of children, vaccination, feeding practices during diarrhea, use of improved water sources, household water treatment, early childbearing, literacy among young women, knowledge about HIV transmission and school attendance.
