To provide the location and characteristics of wastewater treatment plants
HydroWASTE is a spatially explicit global database of 58,502 wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) and their characteristics.
The dataset provides characteristics of 58,502 wastewater treatment plants. The data includes the coordinates of the treatment plants, distance to the nearest river, country, status, the population the facility serves, amount of waste the facility holds, as well as quality estimates for each parameter (high-confidence sources down to estimation from general information).
The database was developed by combining national and regional datasets with auxiliary information to derive or complete missing characteristics
