Dataset
To provide global data on refugees by their country of asylum
The dataset covers data on persons who have current refugee status, granted either before arrival or upon arrival in the receiving country. Those with status granted before arrival in the receiving country include resettled refugees, and those who were living abroad at the time of application and whose application for permanent residence was considered concurrently with that of the protected person already living in the country. The group may also include persons who qualify as refugees under national legal systems. Only refugees under the UNHCR mandate are covered here.
The data includes; the geographic area, unit of measurement, time period, observed value (number of persons)
The data is drawn from inter-agency estimates and nationally representative household surveys such as Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys (MICS) and Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS). In addition, data from administrative sources and other United Nations organizations have been used.
