Dataset Objective

To offer easily accessible marine waste data per country as reported by observers, which can be used in policy formulation and analyzing environmental conditions and trends.

Context

This data was collected as part of a routine assessment of the State of Environment and Conservation in the Pacific region.

What is included

The dataset contains marine waste for 15 countries (Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Line Group, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Phoenix Group, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu) in the Pacific region. The waste is divided into chemicals, general garbage, metals, old fishing gear, plastics and waste Oils.
