Dataset
To show salinity level of ocean surface between 2011 and 2015.
The ocean's salinity is key to studying the water cycle and ocean circulation, both of which are important to Earth's climate.
Data contains Practical Salinity Scale (psu unit) used to describe the concentration of dissolved salts in water and defines salinity in terms of a conductivity ratio. Colors of data show the areas of low salinity in dark purple to areas of high salinity in light yellow) provided in practical salinity units (psu). Black areas show areas where data were not available.
Data is obtained from satellite observations which cover the globe every week.
