To evaluate the performance of Health Project to assess if the program was valuable, was implemented according to plan, what proportion of community members use or do not use the health centers (HCs) and 14 outpatient departments (OPDs), was respect to patients outcome achieved, was respect to health professional outcome achieved, increased enrollment and graduation from NHTC and if the program was achieved with respect to system outcomes.
This was an endline survey for evaluating the Health Project. MCC’s $358 million Lesotho Compact (2008-2013) funded the $144 million Health Sector Project, which aimed to increase access to life-extending anti-retroviral therapy and essential health services by providing a sustainable delivery platform.
The dataset contains the patient's basic demographic information, details of their travel and expenses to reach the clinic, and their opinion on the facility's amenities and quality of service, health facility staff data (basic demographic information, rating of their working and living conditions, the quality of the services offered and overall physical state of health facilities), the number of adult and child patients of each sex who visited the clinic and administrative records of patients undergoing anti-retroviral treatments for HIV.
Data was collected using observations, key informant interviews with stakeholders at the Ministry of Health, the Lesotho Millennium Development Agency, Out Patient Departments (OPDs), members of District Health Management Teams, and 26 focus groups with 181 village health workers. This was supplemented with secondary data from Demographic Health Surveys, Annual Joint Reviews by the Government of Lesotho, and other health statistics.
