Dataset
To provide open access to California geospatial and environmental datasets that support natural resource management, environmental monitoring, climate resilience, conservation planning, research, and public decision-making.
It supports statewide initiatives related to biodiversity conservation, climate adaptation, land management, water resources, recreation, and environmental planning.
The platform hosts open datasets, GIS layers, dashboards, imagery, web applications, and mapping services covering topics such as climate, water resources, watersheds, biodiversity, protected areas, land use, forests, conservation easements, wildfire resilience, environmental hazards, recreation access, oceans, wildlife, and ecosystem monitoring
The datasets are compiled from California state agencies, environmental monitoring programs, conservation initiatives, geospatial surveys, satellite-derived products, hydrological datasets, climate models, and regulatory reporting systems. The portal aggregates and disseminates existing environmental and geospatial information rather than collecting primary field data directly.
