To provide data on international investments and aid flows related to Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) projects to support development finance analysis, WASH planning, and policy research.
The dataset was developed through the OpenWashData initiative to improve access to structured information on WASH-related development financing and aid activities. It supports research on funding patterns, investment priorities, and international support for WASH services and infrastructure.
The dataset includes information on WASH-related aid and investment projects, including project descriptions, funding amounts, donor and recipient information, sectors and subsectors, geographic coverage, implementation periods, and financial flow classifications associated with water supply, sanitation, and hygiene interventions.
The data were compiled from publicly available international development finance and aid reporting databases, including structured records of WASH-related investment and assistance activities.
