To describe the profile of schools in the municipality of Piracema, Brazil, with a focus on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) conditions before, during, and after the COVID-19 pandemic
The dataset was developed as part of a PhD sub-project examining WASH conditions in schools in Piracema, Minas Gerais, Brazil. The study compares school characteristics across 2020, 2021, and 2022 to assess progress in WASH provision since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic
The dataset contains information on water supply, sewage disposal, waste collection, and sanitary infrastructure in schools in Piracema, Brazil. Variables include drinking water access, public water supply, borehole and well water use, sewage systems, waste disposal methods, sanitary facilities for students and staff, showers, student enrollment, and demographic characteristics such as gender, race, and education level distributions. The dataset contains 21 observations and 36 variables covering schools from the basic education system
The dataset was compiled using school-level information from the Brazilian basic education system and comparative WASH-related school data from 2020, 2021, and 2022.
