Dataset
To provide data on community portable water systems in Peru to support rural water supply assessment, infrastructure monitoring, and water service management.
The dataset was developed using information from the SIASAR database, a rural water and sanitation information system used in Latin America to monitor community water services and infrastructure conditions. It focuses on community-managed portable water systems in Peru.
The dataset contains information on portable water systems from 32 communities in Peru and includes 32 observations and 51 variables. Variables cover community and service provider information, population and households served, water system type (gravity, pump, well, rainwater), seasonal water availability, source characteristics and locations, catchment conditions, maintenance records, treatment systems, storage infrastructure, chlorine residual measurements, distribution networks, flow measurements, infrastructure status, and geospatial coordinates for water sources, treatment facilities, storage systems, and distribution components.
The data were collected from the SIASAR database and consist of surveys and infrastructure information related to water catchments, storage systems, treatment facilities, distribution networks, and maintenance activities associated with community portable water systems in Peru
