Dataset
To provide experimental data on the field application and performance of breathable laminate-lined pit latrines to support sanitation technology research, pit latrine design evaluation, and faecal / fecal sludge management studies.
The study was conducted in a village located in the delta area adjacent to the Ganga River along the border of Fatehpur District in Uttar Pradesh, India, providing site-specific data for assessing contaminant movement and the environmental impacts of onsite sanitation systems.
The dataset contains data on breathable laminate-lined pit latrine trials, including pit characteristics, operational performance, environmental conditions, and measurements of contamination around pit latrines. Variables support analysis of pit latrine functionality, sludge behavior, and the movement of contaminants from pit latrines into the surrounding environment.
The data were collected through field experiments and monitoring activities involving breathable laminate-lined pit latrine systems. Measurements and observations were recorded to assess the performance and operational characteristics of the technology under real-world sanitation conditions.
