Dataset
To provide GPS-based data on faecal / fecal sludge transport operations in Kampala, Uganda
The dataset was developed to improve understanding of faecal sludge collection and transport within the urban sanitation service chain in Kampala, Uganda.
The dataset contains two tables: trips and trucks. The trips dataset contains 5,653 observations and 7 variables describing GPS locations of faecal sludge trucks, including truck identifiers, dates, times, geographic coordinates, and destination treatment plants. The trucks dataset contains 35 observations and 2 variables providing information on truck number plates and tank volumes (m³), enabling analysis of vehicle capacities and transport operations.
The data were collected through GPS tracking of faecal sludge trucks operating in Kampala, Uganda between 30 March 2015 and 25 June 2015. GPS records captured truck movements, timestamps, locations, and destination treatment facilities during faecal sludge collection and transport activities.
