The dataset was developed as part of the Nchalo Water Project to improve understanding of household water access, water use, and service conditions in Nchalo, Malawi. It supports analysis of community water supply challenges and household experiences with water services.
The dataset contains household-level survey records on water access and water use in Nchalo, Malawi. Each row represents a surveyed household and includes information on household demographics, drinking water sources, water collection practices, water access conditions, water reliability, water availability, water use behaviors, service challenges, and other household water-related indicators. The dataset supports assessment of water service conditions and household experiences with water supply systems.
The data were collected in 2021 using the mWater mobile data collection platform as part of the Nchalo Water Project. Enumerators conducted structured household surveys and recorded information on household water sources, water access, water collection practices, service reliability, and water-related challenges experienced by respondents.
