To provide post-intervention assessment data on rural water points rehabilitated under the USAID Flood Response program in Malawi.
The post-intervention survey was conducted to assess the effectiveness of rehabilitation activities and to document the condition, functionality, and water quality of water points after the intervention measures were completed.
The dataset contains post-intervention field assessments of rural water points in Mulanje District, Malawi. Each record represents a visit to a rehabilitated water point and includes GPS coordinates, site identification information, photographs, number of users served, water point functionality status, pump and infrastructure condition, flood impact indicators, rehabilitation outcomes, repair needs, water quality measurements (such as turbidity, arsenic, nitrate, and temperature), microbial contamination test results, health risk classifications, and field observations recorded by enumerators. The dataset combines both quantitative measurements and qualitative assessments of water point performance following flood-response interventions.
The data were collected between 2019 and 2020 using the mWater mobile data collection platform as part of the USAID Flood Response program. Field teams conducted GPS-tagged post-intervention assessments of rehabilitated water points, recording infrastructure conditions, functionality, water quality indicators, microbial testing results, photographs, and site-level observations directly in the field.
