Many WASH organizations operate in isolation when selecting or developing data systems, often lacking visibility into tools already being used elsewhere. It helps utilities, municipalities, regulators, and development partners identify, compare, and learn from existing digital tools and data systems used across Africa and Asia.
The dashboard contains information on WASH-related data systems and tools, including: Tool name, Tool description, Country and region of use, Application level (utility, municipality, regulator, etc.), Tool purpose, Tool type, Water and sanitation subsector, Critical Success Factors (CSFs) addressed, Contact information, Learning resources and documentation, Tool comparison features, Exportable tool information for reporting and decision-making purposes
WSH Data Labs conducted a landscape assessment and inventory of existing WASH data and operations management systems across Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. Information on identified tools was compiled into a structured database and made available through an interactive dashboard. The initiative also included stakeholder engagement, webinars, tool demonstrations, and ongoing contributions from users who can suggest additional tools for inclusion.
