The Environmental Health collection is part of the Alaska State Geoportal and primarily contains datasets maintained by the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC). The collection supports monitoring and management of environmental factors that affect human health, including drinking water systems, sanitation, waste management, contamination risks, and environmental health protection activities across Alaska.
The portal contains a collection of environmental health datasets, maps, and web services covering topics such as public drinking water systems, boil water notices, sanitary surveys, drinking water compliance monitoring, solid waste sites and boundaries, environmental contamination monitoring, fish tissue sampling locations, wastewater and sanitation-related information, public health inspections, environmental risk assessments, and regulatory compliance activities.
The datasets are compiled and maintained by the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation through environmental monitoring programs, drinking water system inspections, sanitary surveys, public health investigations, waste management oversight, laboratory testing, regulatory reporting, and field assessments. The Alaska State Geoportal aggregates these datasets and makes them available through a centralized discovery platform
