The dataset is maintained through the Alaska Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development (DCCED) Community Database and provides information on wastewater collection systems operating in Alaskan communities. It supports planning, management, and evaluation of community wastewater services and sanitation infrastructure across the state
The dataset contains 86 observations, with each record representing a wastewater collection system serving an Alaskan community. Variables include community name, utility type, facility name, facility owner, wastewater collection system classification, number of residents served, number of service connections, system identification number, and associated operational information.
The data were compiled from the DCCED Community Database and wastewater utility information maintained by state agencies. Information is derived from community infrastructure records, utility reporting, regulatory programs, and state databases used to monitor and manage water and wastewater services in Alaska.
