Dataset
To provide public access to environmental monitoring, conservation, regulatory, and natural resource datasets
The Environmental category is part of the Arkansas Spatial Data Infrastructure (ASDI) managed by the Arkansas GIS Office. It serves as a centralized repository for environmental GIS datasets produced by state and federal agencies, including the Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, and other environmental management programs.
The portal contains a broad collection of environmental datasets and geospatial layers covering air quality management, environmental permitting, conservation areas, ecologically sensitive resources, water resource protection, environmental facilities, and natural habitat monitoring. Examples include Air Division Districts, Environmental Facility locations, Environmental Permitted Sites, Ecologically Sensitive Springs and Seeps, Ecologically Sensitive Streams, Extraordinary Resource Waters (lakes and streams), Ecoregions Level III and IV, Functional Conservation Areas Across Ecoregions, and infrastructure and access-related environmental datasets
The datasets are compiled from multiple environmental monitoring, conservation, regulatory, and mapping programs operated by state and federal agencies. Data are generated through environmental field surveys, ecological assessments, water quality monitoring, habitat inventories, permitting and compliance programs, GIS mapping initiatives, and conservation planning activities
