Dataset
To provide public access to hydrology and water-resource geospatial datasets that support water resource management in Delaware
The Hydrology collection is part of Delaware FirstMap, the state's enterprise GIS platform. It serves as a centralized source of hydrologic and water-related geospatial data maintained by Delaware state agencies. The collection supports environmental management, watershed protection, water resource planning, conservation, and regulatory activities throughout Delaware.
The collection contains hydrology-related geospatial datasets, feature services, and map services covering wetlands, inland waters, streams, rivers, water bodies, watersheds, drainage features, hydrographic networks, flood-related resources, and other water-resource datasets. Examples include Delaware Wetlands 2.0, which identifies and maps areas likely to be wetlands across the state. Resources are available as downloadable datasets, feature services, and interactive map services that support spatial analysis and environmental assessment.
The datasets are compiled from statewide hydrologic mapping programs, environmental monitoring activities, aerial imagery analysis, GIS data development, watershed assessments, wetland inventories, and water-resource management initiatives conducted by Delaware state agencies and partner organizations. Data are maintained and distributed through the FirstMap geospatial infrastructure.
