Dataset
To provide public access to virtually all MassGIS datasets through an interactive mapping platform that allows users to view, query, analyze, download, and export geographic information for Massachusetts.
MassMapper is the flagship web mapping application developed by MassGIS (Massachusetts Bureau of Geographic Information). It serves as a centralized gateway to hundreds of Massachusetts geospatial datasets and enables users to visualize and interact with data directly in a web browser without requiring specialized GIS software
MassMapper provides access to hundreds of statewide geospatial datasets covering environmental monitoring sites, hydrology and water resources, coastal and marine features, conservation and recreation areas, transportation infrastructure, land use, imagery, political and administrative boundaries, regulated areas, census information, cultural resources, physical resources, property parcels, environmental management data, elevation datasets, wetlands, rivers, lakes, streams, and numerous other GIS layers. Users can search, display, query, and combine multiple layers within a single interactive map environment.
MassMapper integrates authoritative datasets maintained by MassGIS and partner state, federal, and local agencies. Data are collected through environmental monitoring programs, GIS mapping initiatives, remote sensing, surveys, engineering records, administrative databases, and regulatory programs. Users can add layers, query features, generate maps, export tabular information, download datasets, and create custom visualizations through the web application.
