Dataset
To provide public access to water resource datasets and geospatial information that support water resource management and water quality assessment
The Water Resources Collection is part of the Missouri Spatial Data Information Service (MSDIS), Missouri's statewide geospatial data repository. MSDIS serves as a centralized platform for discovering, accessing, and downloading authoritative GIS datasets from state agencies and partner organizations.
The collection contains water-resource-related datasets and services covering watersheds, water quality, regulated water infrastructure, aquatic resources, and environmental management. Available resources include administrative watershed boundaries, NPDES stormwater facilities, NPDES outfalls, designated water uses, stream classifications, outstanding national resource waters, dams, impaired waters, total maximum daily load (TMDL) streams, managed public waterbodies, and other water-resource datasets used for environmental monitoring, regulatory compliance, watershed assessment, and water quality management.
Datasets are developed and maintained by Missouri state agencies, including the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MoDNR). Data are collected through environmental monitoring programs, water quality assessments, aquatic resource surveys, regulatory reporting activities, conservation management programs, GIS mapping initiatives, and field investigations.
