To allow users to view and access water-related data collected by DEQ's Water Division Office of Water Quality.
The Arkansas AquaView application is maintained by the Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment, Division of Environmental Quality (DEQ). It serves as an interactive GIS portal that brings together statewide water-resource information used for water-quality assessment, Clean Water Act reporting, watershed management, and environmental planning. The viewer is also the official interactive map referenced in Arkansas's Integrated Water Quality Monitoring and Assessment Report (305(b)/303(d))
The viewer includes active water quality monitoring stations for rivers, lakes, springs, and wells, together with hydrologic reference layers such as streams, lakes, watersheds (HUC12), potential losing streams, and administrative boundaries. Individual monitoring stations contain detailed information, including station location, assessment unit, basin code, collector information, sampling dates, ecoregion, HUC, watershed size, station type, water source, project information, and monitoring status. The application also provides access to biological monitoring data, fish and macroinvertebrate sampling, mercury monitoring and advisories, Clean Water Act assessment layers, impaired waters, and associated water quality assessment information used by the Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment to support statewide water quality monitoring and management.
Data are collected through Arkansas's statewide water quality monitoring program using field sampling at rivers, lakes, springs, and wells. Monitoring information is combined with hydrologic datasets, watershed boundaries, biological assessments, fish and macroinvertebrate surveys, mercury monitoring, and Clean Water Act water quality assessments. These data are maintained by the Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment and presented through an interactive GIS platform that allows users to query monitoring stations, visualize hydrologic features, and access detailed site-level information.
