Dataset
To provide public access to Arkansas's surface water and groundwater monitoring data to support water-quality assessment
The Water Quality Monitoring Data Search is maintained by the Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment (Division of Environmental Quality, DEQ). It serves as the state's searchable repository of laboratory water-quality monitoring results collected through DEQ's surface water and groundwater monitoring programs.
The database contains water-quality monitoring records for surface water and groundwater monitoring stations throughout Arkansas. Users can search monitoring results by station ID, major river basin, station description, station type (surface water or groundwater), project name, laboratory number, county, sampling location, and date. Available information includes station identifiers, geographic location, sampling dates, laboratory analytical results, physical and chemical water-quality parameters, monitoring project information, watershed and basin identifiers, site descriptions, and associated metadata. The database covers monitoring sites across Arkansas's major river basins, including the Arkansas, White, Ouachita, Red, St. Francis, Buffalo, and other watersheds, and supports the retrieval of both individual sample results and downloadable datasets for analysis.
Water samples are collected through Arkansas's surface water and groundwater monitoring programs following DEQ quality assurance protocols and standard operating procedures. Samples are analyzed by the DEQ Office of Water Quality Laboratory, and the resulting data are used for water-quality assessments, designated-use evaluations, criteria development, watershed characterization, Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) studies, and other environmental monitoring activities.
