To provide interactive access to lake water column profile data for assessing water quality conditions and supporting lake management, environmental monitoring, and research.
The Arkansas Lake Profiles Dashboard is maintained by the Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment (Division of Environmental Quality, Office of Water Quality). The application provides access to vertical profile measurements collected during routine lake monitoring across Arkansas.
The dashboard contains water column profile data collected from lake and reservoir monitoring sites throughout Arkansas. Users can explore monitoring locations using an interactive map, view profile data tables, and generate individual profiles, site profiles across all sampling dates, or annual site profiles. Available measurements include dissolved oxygen (mg/L), water temperature (°C), and pH collected at regular depth intervals throughout the water column. The dashboard also provides monitoring site information, sampling dates, lake names, assessment unit identifiers, station locations, downloadable profile plots, and tabular datasets for further analysis.
Water quality data are collected as water column profiles at lake monitoring sites throughout Arkansas. Measurements of dissolved oxygen, temperature, and pH are recorded at regular depth intervals using field monitoring equipment. Before publication, the data are pre-processed by the Office of Water Quality to ensure consistency in parameter names and measurement units. Data are uploaded manually by Office of Water Quality staff and updated quarterly to reflect newly collected lake profile information.
