Dataset
To provide public access to water-related geospatial datasets, maps, and applications that support water resource management
The Water Collection is part of the Wyoming Geospatial Hub, the state's centralized geospatial data portal. The collection brings together water-related datasets and applications from federal and state agencies, providing users with access to hydrographic data, watershed information, groundwater resources, wetlands, stream monitoring, and climate mapping resources for Wyoming.
The collection contains water-related resources, including web mapping applications, map services, documents, and downloadable datasets. Some available resources include the National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) for flowlines, waterbodies, and hydrographic areas; Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC10) watershed boundaries; National Wetlands Inventory (NWI) wetlands; USGS principal aquifer maps; USFS priority watersheds; stream gauge and lake observation applications; the Wyoming Water and Climate Map Server; 30-meter land cover data; Powder River Basin image mapping services; and other hydrographic and water-resource datasets.
Datasets are compiled from multiple federal and state agencies, including the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), U.S. Forest Service (USFS), U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), NOAA, and Wyoming state agencies. The portal integrates authoritative hydrographic mapping, watershed delineation, groundwater mapping, wetland inventories, climate information, and monitoring data into a centralized geospatial platform.
