To provide free public access to authoritative geospatial data and interactive mapping applications related to New Jersey's environmental and geographic resources.
The portal is maintained by the NJDEP Division of Information Technology, Bureau of GIS and serves as the department's official open data platform for environmental geospatial information. Built using ArcGIS Hub, it provides centralized access to authoritative GIS datasets and interactive applications produced by various NJDEP programs.
The portal contains an extensive collection of downloadable GIS datasets organized into thematic categories, including cadastral information, elevation, environmental resources, geology, government boundaries, grids, hydrography, land, structures, transportation, and utilities. In addition to downloadable datasets, the platform offers numerous interactive applications that support environmental planning and public awareness.
The portal compiles GIS datasets generated and maintained by multiple NJDEP divisions through environmental monitoring, field surveys, regulatory programs, engineering projects, remote sensing, mapping initiatives, and other official data collection activities.
