Dataset
To provide information on humanitarian needs, impacts, response activities, beneficiaries, and post-distribution outcomes across multiple sectors during emergencies in Madagascar.
The module supports humanitarian monitoring and coordination, particularly in response to cyclone-related emergencies such as Gezani and Fytia. It brings together information from the WASH Cluster and other humanitarian clusters to provide a multi-sector view of impacts, needs, interventions, and assistance. The module combines activity monitoring, damage assessments, service-level assessments, beneficiary information, and post-distribution monitoring
The dataset contains humanitarian information across WASH, nutrition, health, education, protection, social and behaviour change (SBC), shelter, and cash assistance. It includes 5W activity and operational-presence information, beneficiary numbers by sector and region, and multi-sector damage assessments covering affected populations, claims, flooded and damaged houses, destroyed health facilities, damaged classrooms, and affected water sources. WASH information includes access to improved water points, water trucking, and formal and informal water prices. Healthcare and education components include facility and school inventories, service levels, infrastructure, damage, and usability. The nutrition component includes screening, MAM/MAS, CRENAM/CRENAS, deworming, vitamin A supplementation, and ANJE awareness. Shelter data cover accommodation sites and building damage, while SAMS covers cash transfers. The module also contains Post-Distribution Monitoring (PDM) information for Cyclone Gezani, covering household profiles, assistance coverage, anticipatory actions, alerts, awareness, use and satisfaction with assistance, effects, problems encountered, accountability, and sector-specific PDM for WASH, education, nutrition, protection, and SBC.
Data are collected through structured mWater/MGMERL forms and digital applications, including Activity Monitoring/Tracking and humanitarian enumerator tools. The 5W component records activities by sector, location, date, partner, and beneficiaries. Damage and multi-sector assessments provide information on emergency impacts, while sector-specific assessments document conditions and services in communities, healthcare facilities, schools, and other sites. Post-Distribution Monitoring collects household-level feedback on assistance and its outcomes. Data are subsequently processed, aggregated, mapped, and visualized through MGMERL dashboards.
