To provide annuals estimates of water footprint of crop production and consumption in China so as to quantify the effect of inter-annual variability of consumption, production, trade and climate on crop-related green and blue water footprints and inter-regional virtual water trade, using China over the period 197 - 008 as a case study.
Study was current to investigate the effect of inter-annual variability of consumption, production, trade and climate on crop-related green and blue water footprints and inter-regional virtual water trade using 197 - 008 as a case study.
The data has annual statistics for the period 1961-2009 for 22 individual crops in China. Each of the crops included in the dataset has annual green and blue water footprint of production at high spatial resolution (5x5 arc minute) at the province level
The estimates of the annual green and blue water footprints of crop consumption (in m3 y?1) were estimated per crop per year at provincial level based on the bottom-up approach
