To examine the economic viability of upgrading the two roads and future performance of the roads in the islands of Efate and Espiritu Santo.
MCC’s $65.4 million Vanuatu Compact (2006-2011) funded the $58.3 million Infrastructure Activity. The activity aimed to reduce travel times and vehicle operating costs in rural areas by reconstructing and sealing 149.7 km of two national roads: the Efate Ring Road and the Santo East Coast Road.
Dataset consists of seven day traffic count of the Efate Ring Road and Santo East Coast Road. Attributes entail: location, day of count, total weekly count and weekly average.
Data is collected through direct observation. December 2010 counts were used in the HDM-4 analysis.
